Left And left Again is a
new independent publishing and production company
which activity seeks out humorous material from unexplored
angles.
It specifically enjoys woman's
subjects which up until now have been only seen the light of
day over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with
girlfriends.
It enjoys the mind set of women
over 40yrs who once this landmark age has
been reached, relax with artistic carefree abandonment,
since time is no longer on their side.
Left And Left Again was set
up in 2006 by Mary Hildreth, to release it`s first title:-"The
Car Maustra:The man who loves his car!!" and it`s
second release "Who says woman can`t drive: the diverse
world of woman's driving skills" due for release in
2007.
The company has international
distribution through Gardners, Bertrams, Bookspeed and THE
and enjoys a good working relationship with Waterstones, the
press and the media.
How the name came about:
The name came about as a set of
directions that were given to a group of four women by a
hotel receptionist, in Barcelona at 11.30 at night. Having
just arrived from Stansted airport on a bargain flight for a
three day girlie break, one of the ladies was in need of a
cup of tea. Unfortunately the hotel was so up market and
trendy that it did not have the customary tea making
facilities that she was used to and therefore the four
ladies followed the instructions of the receptionist in
search of their refreshment. Dressed in their very dull but
very comfortable travel clothes, no make up and all looking
rather haggard, The night security man gave them
directions to turn left, and then left again. Unknown to
them at the time, they had been sent to the most up market
and famous night club in town !! The dark night obviously
hid their lack of preparation for the event, and they were
welcomed in and given the most enormous gold and velvet sofa
to share. None having been in a night club
for at least 10 years it marked the beginning of their
holiday...that's another story! (Video footage in
pre-production)
